So overwhelmed by all the love my project Gentle Punks is receiving. Just found out last week that the project was given an honorable mention in the @FotoVisura Spotlight Awards. FotoVisura has also selected one of my images to be in the Spotlight 2014 Exhibition at Brisbane POWERHOUSE Arts in Australia.
Very humbled to be in the company of such talented photographers: http://grant.fotovisura.com/
All this wonderful news has got me pumped to start on new projects. Cheers to spring transitions!
“"I’m walking down the street. There are people in the street. There is someone you fancy. And you turn the corner. And there she is. No two ways about it. She is the idea. You are in love. And she is the story."
— This guy’s full of gems. This one really hits home right now. Who wants to come with me to see him speak at BAM? anyone?
Just a little over a month and a half ago now I set out on a journey through Peru with my best gal pals. Lima—>Pulpos—>Pucusana—>Cusco—>Aguas Calientes—>Machu Picchu—>Ollantaytambo—>Cusco—>Lima. We saw so much in two weeks but what we came away with was so much more than photographs and souvenirs (or the puppies we almost adopted). What we’ll probably remember most are the feelings we felt towards each other, the intimacies, the giggles, the constant “check ins.” For that I am grateful for traveling to Peru. Machu Piccu got nuthin on that. Latin America is magic.
Tonight I will be speaking about my work The Gentle Punks for the first Open Show NYC event in Brooklyn at Videology in Williamsburg. If you’re in the neighborhood, please stop by @ around 6:30 PM. I’m very stoked to be speaking in the company of some big talents.
